Unusual jersey Help with ID, and can I use it as a 2-way stretch knit?

Here's the right side: But the wrong side seems unusual for a jersey. It's knitted so there is a distinct diamond pattern on the back: What kind of a knit is this? The fabric definitely stretches sides to side. It seems to stretch lengthwise too. I am planning to make a long-sleeve T-shirt with it. Is it appropriate for Silhouettes #195?
