Date: 1/25/12 0:13 AM I'm here, but I'm in the upper part of the state. I think there are a few others on here. Might bump it up a few times. |

Date: 1/26/12 8:13 PM Creative Sewing Machine Center in West Columbia...my machine dealer, lots of classes, notions, fabrics (mostly quilting cottons), inspiration galore. They do have a web site but not a web store. Some ladies I've met there drive all the way from Charleston for events. That means a two-hour, 100-mile trip one way.
There is also a JoAnn's in West Columbia, another JoAnn's in Columbia, and a couple of Hancock Fabrics in Columbia.
This probably does not help you much, but these are the resources that I know about in my area. NAYY just a happy seamstress. :)
As much as I like supporting local businesses, I do purchase most of my garment fabrics online.

Date: 1/27/12 10:27 AM Thank you.... this is all new to me. I'm more familiar w/ NC.
Hopefully we'll be out to Charleston this spring... we always missed
it when driving to & from Ohio... would stop in Savannah regularily.
My cousin is busy w the move & now all her kids are getting married & grandkids on the way. She'll be sewing soon. On the web, there is an award winning quilt shop in Charleston. Maybe it's new. Thought someone would say something.
