I'm on holidays from today until the 5 of February. I'm currently on Vancouver Island and then will be popping to visit Vancouver city (maybe Whistler?) too.

Does anyone have any suggestions for fabric (independent/locally made), trims and/or buttons?

If you have any suggestions for places to photograph, those are welcome too. 8)

Many thanks,
Cat

A really fun place to visit in Vancouver is Granville Island. There is a wonderful, and huge, public market there. For sewing stuff on the island check out Maiwa, which is sort of a combination of import and textile store. They have lots of beautiful and one of a kind things.

Just a note - Whistler is at least an hour & a half drive from Vancouver. But if you're looking for places to photograph - wowza, the drive past Horseshoe Bay and the mountains/waterfalls along the Sea-to-Sky Highway to Squamish are some of the most beautiful on earth!

I consider Dressew a must! And LynnRowe lives right in the neighbourhood and if i go again without visiting I am in big trouble. She has a FW for me, so if you pop in, give me a report on how he is doing?

Victoria has Gala Fabrics right downtown and Buttons and Bows closer to the University.

I have absolutely zero time this week as we are getting ready for a competition, but would love to meet up if I could. We need a "we should meet up" thread, where we could talk about upcoming visits, though it would have to be general because we don't want to reveal to the world when we are out of town, leaving our machines and stashes defenseless.

Thanks guys. I am here only through Sunday. (Leaving bright and early Sunday). I've got the addresses written down. Well see how it goes getting there. (North is to the left?).

tourist: I do believe if I happened upon a random FW being neglected, I'd have to take it home with me. 8)

Only 2 days left. I don't wanna go back to the real world. Waah!

Thank you again.
