Date: 1/29/12 11:38 AM I am very new to entering contests, but want to start this year. In looking through the 2012 contests, most are self-explanatory, but I need a little clarification on a couple of them.
I know RTW means Ready-To-Wear, so I assume this means we try to copy a RTW that we like? Are we to find a commercial pattern close to the RTW and tweak it in style, or both style and fabric (match the RTW as much as possible?)
And, I guess that the Best Patterns means the best of a category. Of 2011? Is this something I can start looking at now to get ideas, or details won't be released until closer to the date?
Thanks for any help! -- Edited on 1/29/12 11:39 AM -- |

Date: 1/29/12 11:00 PM For the RTW (yes ready to wear) contest, you are right. Take a item that you have seen, own already, etc and replicate it. You can use a pattern, draft your own ... Try a search here for previous RTW contests to get an idea.
The rules haven't been set yet for the Best Pattern contest. I imagine (my thoughts only) that they will include a few years worth of Best Of.. Patterns. The 2011 version will be coming out soon, but aren't out yet.
Hope that helps you out! I hope you decide to enter a contest this year! ------ Connie Bontje
