Have you received your pattern yet?

I'm so excited!! I have a feeling it's going to be a giant puzzle.

No, but I helped on a translation and it's going to take time, but won't be too hard if you read it and experiment some with them. Was that clear as mud?

With the random order, who knows when we will be getting patterns!

That's the link to the VPLL they also have a blog post outlining the project.

Titanic project

I have a few fashion history books and am hoping to use them to sort out any details that are unclear. I know they've started releasing the patterns, like you say it's just a matter of when now.

Hello Ladies, I am in group 17, no patterns as of yet either, but I understand Janyce is hoping to something to each group by the end of February. Quite honestly I am a bit relieved as it gives me time to finish up some other projects...of which I have a few...

I just got a copy of Edwardian Modiste and have been acquainting myself with the the pattern pieces in relation to the styles. I am so impressed with the number of patterns available today for historical costuming. In the early 80's you had to draft everything yourself

Does everyone have their foundation garments made? Will you be bothering? Are you planning on sewing samples only, or do you have plans to sew for yourself? I am still trying to decide. There is a 1912 corset sew along underway for anyone interested

Hello Lynne!! I've been working on that corset. I finished the muslin this weekend and am making adjustments to the pattern. Maybe by this weekend I can cut into the coutil.

I will be making the garments to fit me. I have the slip challenge pattern but decided to make up the corset first, and fit the slip over that. I figure, if I'm ever invited to a Halloween party I'm ready to go. I think the slip pattern would make a cute nightgown. I also have a lot of laces that are languishing in the stash that I would like to use if possible. The only thing I haven't made up my mind about is if I will modernize them, or stick to historically accurate.

Will you be making the corset? They have two featured on the sew along, the 1911 (which is the authors draft), and the Corsets and Crinoline version.

I'm making samples only, unless it's something that I want to wear. The slip that was the bonus one this month, I plan on making a dressing gown out of (with modern fabrics) to match my robe.

I'm not bothering with foundation garments. I don't wear the Edwardian type of corsets IRL, and making one just to get the "look" isn't going to do me much good in the long run.

Loti which corset pattern are you working from? I am debating about patterning one myself or just purchasing an available one....

I am thinking about making them up in muslin first and then deciding about doing a contemporary version for me, or a replica for display..kind of depends on how much I like the style that gets sent to me.
