Date: 2/1/12 5:41 PM My Firefox has been crashing repeatly over the past several weeks. In addition, pages have been slow to load, the mouse isn't working properly and I bought a new keyboard since the old one was taking ages for my words to appear on the pages.
Today, it went down again and I switched back to MSN....no mouse problems, pages load rapidly, no waiting for words to appear on the pages. I've spent a great deal of time running virus checks, defrag stuff and all of that, only to find that it is them, not my computer..
In addition, they sent a message to download updates, which I did..now they are telling me that my printer program, real player and several other items are not compatable, so they turned them off!
Is anyone else having problems with them?? I had heard that they were supposed to be so good and easy to use. That hasn't been my experience at all. The only thing I can't do on MSN is Pinterest..I can live without that ..or just suffer through if I want to pin something...I do feel like sending them a bill for the new keyboard! ------ 2009-113.25 yds

Ebay is also having big problems today. A lot of people cannot sign into their accounts. And they are having a few other problems as well. Wonder what is causing all these problems lately.. |

Date: 2/1/12 5:50 PM I stopped using firefox a few years ago, after some problems that I was never able to resolve, similar to what you're describing. I use Chrome now, and it's great! ------ Viking Lily 545

Date: 2/1/12 5:57 PM Thanks for posting! Thought it was our internet/computers. I can barely get Firefox to open and it closes VERY slowly. |

Date: 2/1/12 6:24 PM So far, Firefox won't open the page that tells me what version I believe that it is the latest 4.0....I have Internet Explorer through MSN and Window Vista.

Date: 2/1/12 6:29 PM I'm somewhat glad to hear that my problems are not unique. As you can probably tell, I'm not very computer literate and have been having problems from the start. It doesn't help that my Firefox pages don't look like the examples that they give on the fixes!
I do have both Chrome and Safari downloaded..I may go back and see if Ilike them better now. I do like the search and the favorites better on Firefox than on my MSN, but at least I am used to that. ------ 2009-113.25 yds

Date: 2/1/12 6:29 PM I finally gave up on Firefox in frustration about a month ago. Switched to Chrome, even though I'm not thrilled about Google having more information about me than they already have. Leaving Firefox after so many years was like leaving an abusive relationship. I so wanted to believe in its open source goodness. I can't believe how much faster and smoother Chrome is. ------ I am going for a level of perfection that is only mine... Date: 2/1/12 7:46 PM The latest version of Firefox is 9.0.1
If you go to control panel and click on add/remove programs it will populate every program on your computer. Scroll down to Mozilla and it will tell you which Firefox version.
If you have not been updating you may be using a version that is no longer supported. Doing so can be problematic as well as a security risk. |
