So the neighbor and I were working on her new Janome today...trying to make stuffies out of polar fleece....well...as it turns out the pressure is too much and is stretching out the polar fleece. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for dealing with this?

Is there a pressure foot adjustment. Like a knob to adjust on the side or top. To help you better what janome machine she have?

She has a Janome 1050. No presser foot adjustment that I can see.

I can't find any Internet resources that show me what I want to see, but many Janome machines adjust the pressure with a lever INSIDE the faceplate door (over the needle). Is there a control inside there on the 1050?

There is no door to the left of the needle there is a screw holding the plastic piece on. I can remove it and see what's there.

looks like its self ajustable. It has feet for each sewing job. I would get a rollor foot that will put less stretch on the fleece. I look at the sewing book and it show nothing about adjusting the pressure foot. I would get a foot that looks like this.

hope this helps.

Have you tried a walking foot to keep the layers from shifting?

Because it is a fuzzy/nappy type surface, I only use a walking foot with polar fleece.

I once tried to sew polar fleece with a roller foot and the pressure set very low. Didn't work. Only a walking foot is going to help here.

Ok, I can put on a walking foot..however, I'm trying to sew eyes and noses onto the polar fleece so basically applique. I have done this before...and can do it on my D1...but the Janome is a big no go so
far.

So am I understanding correctly in that basically if you don't have presser foot pressure, you simply need the correct foot for the job and you will be fine?

Thanks for info.
