Duck Duck Go Search Engine? Privacy Oriented Alternative to Google

This morning I did a Google search (irony intended) and Duck Duck Gopopped up. On top of which.. a lot of people .. my sons friends etc.. even the neighbors will pop in and use my computer now and then and google up something on it.. if I can't tell them for instance an answer to a questions they thought I might have on a certain subject. Frankly.. I am pretty much an open book.. and don't really care if people .. anyone.. knows that I happen to research a lot of subjects for a lot of reasons.. One time I googled up black bear for some reason and still get cookies popping up stuff on it. lol. They don't really know as much about me as they think if they are going by what is googled up on my computer. I just ignore anything that comes my way from my google activities.. they same as I ignore Mr. Poorpigling.. But I will say.. that duck is too cute.

I usually use bing and if I don't find what I'm looking for with that, I use dogpile. lycos is another good search option. ------ Doo-doo-DOO-doo, Doo-doo-DOO-doo...... I posted about this at the time, and decided DDG was "a pretty good search engine, but of course it doesn't have the extra links like "News"/"Images"/"Videos" etc." However, thanks for the reminder! I may try DDG again. I don't like Google's "we're doing X, so tough luck" attitude -- or the upcoming changes. Their new policy is the reason. They want way too much info on us and everyone else and we do not want to give it. Some I know a lot about, some I don't. Some are controversial, some are bland and boring...so what are they really going to get out of me with locksmiths, chiropractors, getting an ex back, forex plus all the stuff *I* look up (that is all over the place. Just in the last hour I have looked up James Dean, House of Wax, medical paper and "why does zoloft make me tweak"). ------ Elaina SewDucky.com

This morning, I took Google off my tool bar and in the reasons section I checked off the box that says "privacy concerns." I agree that Google gathers too much information on everyone, and many of us have been lulled into a false sense of security. But Google knows far more about us than bland pieces of information like the fact that we like to sew or watch Downton Abbey. The fact is that not all information collected about us is harmless. I usually just do a yahoo search.. rarely go to google. But I may very well try a few of those sites as it seems like I don't always find a lot of info that I am looking for on either yahoo or google. I am so happy you think I am cuter than that duck.. blushing.. you just can't tell I am blushing since I am already PINK..
