THIS is the only internet presence that Australian Stitches Magazine has.

WHY? This looks like a fantastic magazine and I'm dying to get my hands on some issues here in the U. S.

How come Australian Stitches isn't more out there, like Threads is?

My local sewing machine shop carries the mag. I love it. I usually go a few times a year and buy several issues. They keep all the back issues.

I've ordered copies from Erica's..

Erica's

I do agree that their website is disappointing and pretty useless if you are trying to find something.

I used to buy them at Barnes and Nobel. I haven't looked for them in awhile.

I don't get it! It's 2012! Sewing is bigger than ever!

Australian Stitches needs a website!

Argh!

So does mine. Also Fabric Depot in Portland OR.

stonehouse publication

I love that each magazine has an alteration and fitting article. They include makeovers, new patterns, a pattern review with hints and some craft stuff. They do feature patterns according to the Australian seasons, but the info is well worth holding onto. I could do with less advertising.

I believe that Australian Stitches are a much smaller operation than Threads hence why they perhaps don't have the resources for a website. I agree it's a shame.

That is a rather pathetic website. It looks as if they have bought the domain name just in case they want to set up a website some time in the future.

If you want to buy subscriptions or back issues, you can here:
http://shop.magstore.com.au/Australian-Stitches-s/60.htm, although the overseas subscription rate is pretty steep, especially when you consider the Australian dollar is worth more than the US one. If you can buy the magazine in local fabric or book stores, it would probably cost you a lot less than the subscription.
