Date: 2/10/12 9:52 AM Has anyone out there ever done this? Is there soething written out there that I should read first? At this point I'm ging to modify the pattern the way I think it has to be, then make a muslin test garment. But This seems like a huge pattern change. I'm not overly optimistic! Thanks very much.

Date: 2/10/12 4:06 PM I always try to start with the right collar, sleeves, and silhouette, then make changes from there. It's pretty easy to change the pockets, the closure, the seaming, even a single breasted to double breasted. One-piece sleeve to two-piece, no problem. Necklines, armscyes, and shapes are hard. |

Date: 2/13/12 9:15 PM There are a few swing coat patterns out there from the Big 4. Given that they have such great pattern sales why not just give one of those a go? There are also many vintage patterns available in that style as well but they will likely cost more. ------ http://lasewist.blogspot.com/ |
