Date: 2/10/12 2:04 PM I am starting to see signs that it is almost spring here:
1. Hubby smoked some racks of ribs for dinner a couple of days ago. While smoking happens year round around here, the ribs definately felt like an almost spring thing.
2. Lately I have felt the need to do spring cleaning type jobs around here. Cleaned out and scrubed the fridge, cleaned out a few cabinets etc.
3. Went out to the marina to visit our "project boat" (the project boats in our lives really call for a whole other thread) The engines etc are running good, tis time for me to put the final touches on the interior of the boat to make it more livable. Took it for a ride around the lake and I was comfy in just my jeans and a tshirt, didnt need the extra sweat shirt or jacket that I brought with me.
4. Most important sign, Ive started looking at patterns for spring and summer...shorts, sun dresses, short sleved tops etc.
Im excited! Winter is almost gone! |

We are still waiting on winter here .. I have had recent thought of spring cleaning myself. Just wish we weren't in a drought as I could really enjoy putting in more gardens and plants in our weather this year..
A sure sign of spring in my home means a complete change of decor over to a more spring summer look.. so I have a LOT of sewing to do before it gets here.. |

Date: 2/10/12 4:04 PM I sure miss Dallas winters. I went to high school in Lewisville (uh-hem a few years ago) I will never foget the day I left, I was wearing a long sleeve blouse and no coat(it was February) I get to St. Louis and there is about 6" of snow on the ground and I was freezing. I am back where I started now in Arkansas. We have been warm all winter and suddenly it has dropped to just above freezing today with really cold temps on the way. I am coming back to Dallas. |

Date: 2/10/12 6:51 PM It seems silly to complain, but... we haven't had any winter yet!
We've been making a point to enjoy the nice weather, but there is definitely something unsettling about it! ------ ~Gem in the prairie |

Date: 2/10/12 7:41 PM It's spring here..I hope it stays! After the snow and ice, the roses are leafing out, daffs are showing colors and the rhododendrons are looking ready to bloom . It's been in the high 50's and low 60's during the day all week. You Texans and others can laugh, but that's no coat weather here..
I just got a whole box of linen and am trying to decide on patterns....definitely spring! ------ 2009-113.25 yds

Date: 2/10/12 10:27 PM Daffodils have sprouted next to the house and it's Feb. What's with that?
We have had some snow but all that is left are the piles in parking lots. Had flurries today.
What a strange winter. ------ Ada

I can't help thinking the weather gods may have a surprise for us in March.
So....perfect day for warm turtleneck, cozy sweater, snug booties with sox, soup and hot chocolate, purring SM and dog by a sunny window, while everyone else does their college BB channels. Just depends on if the machine feels like winter or spring fabric and cooperates! |

We got snow last night in Southern Ontario, too. I still wouldn't call it winter showing up. Winter and spring weather this year have been yo-yo-ing back and forth since January. It's made for great driving most weeks. But it's weird. Rain/snow/nothing/rain/nothing/snow/nothing/rain...
Someone told me last week he had seen daffodils already -- that's at least six weeks early for this region.
