What do you think about those who post messages that go on and on and take forever to get to the point?

My point is - 7,680 maximum message length in characters is a blog!

At first, my eyes glaze over. Then I read the first and last few sentences to see where the post is heading and then the comments as long as they are not competing with the original post for author of the year.

If I want to read a book, I will buy one.

ETA - someone done snuck in an extra 69,120 maximum characters! Now that is one big wind storm!

Sorry, I know I am one of those who take a while to get to the point. I will try to be more concise in the future.

I have thought of a blog, but who would want to read my ramblings?

I really enjoy quilting. I love to play with fabrics, colors and pictures. I recently discovered how much fun applique can be. As I love making pictures, landscape quilting can be challenging, but seeing the picture come to life is so rewarding.

Oh, I think a lot of people like to read blogs. I do when I am looking for a lot of details on a certain subject.

Ahem.. cough cough.. Please deposit 1.99 cents into my paypal account. Up till now. .my books were free..

What always strikes me strange.. is that it seems like I have just typed away forever.. only to post it and see it only ended up two sentences.. This box is deceiving. and even more deceiving is the reply box.. so tiny.. makes your post look much bigger..

Guilty, but always willing (and prefer) to edit out if the information is not useful to the person with the original question.

I truncate most of my posts. Most of the time, I type what I want to say and then delete it.

Seems I should keep doing that more often, tho.

Everyone expresses themselves differently and may not consider themselves to be long winded, but would rather tell the story. Older posters may take awhile to get to the point 'cause we forgot what it was in the first place.

Supposedly here we are among friends, if the long explanation isn't tolerable, just skim the message, all the better to not hurt someone's feelings.

I know what you mean. When my mind starts to wander as I'm reading a post, I figure it's time to move on.

It's not as bad, if made in to paragraphs. It's the one solid "wordy word" paragraph, that really plays havoc with my eyesight and fading brain cells

Double guilty. Thanks for the reminder on dividing off into shorter paragraphs, I'll work on that.

Mights as well add triple guilty before the subject of long sentences comes up.
