Could you help me pick a pattern, or modification?

Could you help me choosing a pattern or how to modify it? She asked if I can make something like the black dress in the picture. http://lifeofadragonsmom.blogspot.com/2012/02/my-sister-in-law-asked-me-to-make.html I thought I can use Butterick 5319 http://butterick.mccall.com/b5319-products-3160.php?page_id=414 It's just a matter of lengthening the skirt and adding the sleeves... Is there a better matching pattern? If 5319 works, how can I add sleeves? Are these flounces? Thank you in advance for your help!!

You could play around with a long rectangle of fabric, gathering it into a loose ruffle/flounce to copy the sleeve effect on the inspiration gown. In terms of adding a sleeve to the Maggie London pattern, I would try the same thing. Another possibility is looking for a similar pattern, in particular another Maggie London pattern, to see if there is a similar sleeve you can morph onto the first pattern. Designers often use a very similar sloper from pattern to pattern, which is why I suggest looking for another pattern from ML. Going to a bridal store and checking out construction of similar sleeves might be helpful, too. Good Luck!
