Date: 2/24/12 2:00 PM I have a DG I love to sew for. Both local fabric stores and online ones always have plenty of novelty fabrics in wovens or fleece or flannels. But I would really love a source for adorable girly prints in T-shirt knits for girly, twirly skirts and different prints so I could tier the ruffles, make matching tops, and well you get the idea. I even wanted to make my son's family all matching Christmas PJ's in a Christmas/winter printed T-shirt knit but no, couldn't find enough. Plenty of fleeces and flannels but didn't want that. Found a couple winter prints online in light weight knit but they were kind of ugly. Anyway, little girls RTW clothes are most often knits with lots of cheerful prints and patterns but where do I get it? Handcocks and JoAnns never seem to have any. Oh, and I would love some different but all go together patriotic T-shirt knit fabric too for a 4th of July outfit. My GD's Mommy doesn't like ironing so I figure knits would be good and comfy too. I would really appreciate it if anyone knows some store with an awesome selection of printed T-shirt knit fabrics. Thanks in advance! ------ Thank you Lord for my Mother who taught me the joy of sewing. |

These links are to the home pages. Look around a bit and you will find plenty of jersey prints. ------ marjoriekh |

Date: 3/4/12 1:33 PM You're welcome! It's amazing what you can find out there when you're not confined to the chain stores, isn't it?
Just wish I could still handle the goods before buying. ------ marjoriekh |

Just wish I could still handle the goods before buying. It is amazing! I know what you mean about handling the fabric though. But I really got lucky because it's all perfect weight and the ones I hoped would coordinate do--the colors are perfectly matched so I am one thrilled Grandma! I have a rather small fabric stash now but I think it is going to grow fast! I can't wait to show my GD what I have so far!!! She'll be so excited too! ------ Thank you Lord for my Mother who taught me the joy of sewing. |
