Date: 2/24/12 8:52 PM I had settled on Simplicty 2936 (http://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin/patterns/sewingpatterns.pl?patternid=18336) and planned to use some pink cotton lawn from my stash. I'm looking at the short puffy sleeved version with a collar. I plan to do the tucks or darts in the back, but only add them to the front later if desired. (post babyweight loss.) The pink is a very classic soft pink. I'm ready for something classic just now.
However, I was about to cut and realized that the fabric is quite sheer. Now I'm having second thoughts. Is this pattern still great for a semi-sheer fabric? Should I line the blouse? Is it wierd to line a blouse? Or should I just wear a cami under it? I would be greatful for some opinions. ------ Melanie |

Date: 2/24/12 8:57 PM I actually do line some blouses with ambiance. I tried silk organza but it was too scratchy and stiff. I'm not fond of camis unless it's winter and I'm wearing them for warmth.
I should say that I always make princess seam blouses so it's easy to keep the shape of the lining close to the shape of the blouse and there's not a lot of shifting. If I was making the "shirt-type" with just a bust dart the results might be different. |
