I had settled on Simplicty 2936 (http://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin/patterns/sewingpatterns.pl?patternid=18336) and planned to use some pink cotton lawn from my stash. I'm looking at the short puffy sleeved version with a collar. I plan to do the tucks or darts in the back, but only add them to the front later if desired. (post babyweight loss.) The pink is a very classic soft pink. I'm ready for something classic just now.

However, I was about to cut and realized that the fabric is quite sheer. Now I'm having second thoughts. Is this pattern still great for a semi-sheer fabric? Should I line the blouse? Is it wierd to line a blouse? Or should I just wear a cami under it? I would be greatful for some opinions.

I love the new sheer look too! What I've done - and would suggest you too - was go to Bare Necessities ( great selection) and get one of the camisole shapewear. It works wonderfully in either a soft pink or a color called cafe latte. Some of these camisoles are made to be worn by themselves--but I don't do it. Just a great under sheer fabric top. Because it is shapewear - rather than just a standard camisole/t-shirt material -- it is a bit thicker-- plus helps with my otherwise bulges!

Yes - shapewear camis are a must. I'm a huge Spanx fan! But maybe I should line it anyway so I can wear it in warmer weather. It does get too hot for shapwear you know?
