FABRIC SHOPPING IN BERLIN ANY RECOMMENDATIONS?

My friend always directs me to Ka De We, but as a non-sewer has no idea if there are any other places to build up my excess baggage!

They are both mentioned and still exist in this thread from 2009 on the German sewing blog 'Hobbyschneiderin': fabric shops in Berlin The thread is 5 pages long, and somewhere further down, some additional addresses are mentioned (e.g. Tessuti Stoffe) which are also worthwhile exploring. Two newer shops are here: Berlins Welt der Stoffe and Stoffe Meyer If you have difficulties in reading the websites, don't hesitate to PM me. A word of caution: fabric is relatively expensive compared to the States, and the variety (ie when it comes to knits and jerseys) is not as broad as you may be used to. It was full of organic cottons and linens, with a few woolen (it was in July, so not much winter fabrics). Plus very pretty notions, buttons and silk bias. The salesperson didn't speak English, though, I had to brush up my rusty German ! I visited Tessuti, too, but it was way too pricey for me. I love to bring fabrics home with me when I travel to remind me of where I have been. Searching out the fabric shops in a strange city can be tricky so this information is really helpful. If anyone is visiting the UK and would like similar advice I will do my best to reciprocate
