Are there any sewers in the Buffalo or Niagara Falls area? I'm interested in meeting other people who sew, especially garments.

I'm south of Buffalo (Angola) and I'd love to talk about sewing with anybody other than my husband. Nobody I know sews and he just nods his head and tries to humor me!

I'm so excited to meet someone who sews. Yesterday, I went to my sewing lesson in Victor, NY, and my husband, Ben, asked me how it went. I told him about everything that we worked on, and he said, "I don't know what any of that means." :)

What do you sew? I'm learning to sew clothing. I recently made my first dress. Right now, I'm working on McCalls 2401.

I'm also taking the Couture Dress course on Craftsy. I'm not actually working on the dress yet - just watching the videos to learn.

I used to live in Forestville, so I drive through Angola on my way to visit family. What is halfway between us? Hamburg? We could meet somewhere in Hamburg...a cafe maybe?

My preference is clothing but I've sewn just about everything at one time or another.

Meeting in Hamburg sounds great. Depending on what part of Buffalo you come from I can think of two different places. Peg's Place on route 5 just past the Ford plant or somewhere on route 20. Maybe Uncle Joe's. Both places have great food and service. Are you familiar with either one of those or is there something different you can suggest?

I have the luxury of not having to work so except for Thursdays I'm pretty flexible.

I have been to both places, actually. My dad used to take me to Uncle Joe's when I was younger, and I went to Peg's Place once with friends, and I really liked it. Do you want to go to Peg's Place?

I work Monday - Friday, 9-5, so I'm available during the week at 6 p.m. or later, and then I'm free any time on the weekend (except for this Saturday; it's my nephew's birthday).

Just let me know what works best for you!

I've got some things going on through the week so maybe Sunday afternoon?

I see you're as FOPR (I'm not) so why don't you pm me and we can take this off the board, so to speak.

Debbie

Where in Victor did you take lessons? I am south of Victor and am always trying to get dressmakers/seamstresses together.
