Date: 2/27/12 8:51 AM Hi, everyone. I'm looking for a good online fabric shop that sells good quality apparel fabrics (i.e. twill for pants, some nice cotton-y but not necessarily quilter's cotton fabric for tops, etc....)
Since I can't shop in person, the ability to order a small sized swatch is a must.
I also am not looking for suggestions for fabric.com For my own personal reasons I do not want to shop there.
Thanks in advance for any links! ------ www.bookwormbethie.wordpress.com

Date: 2/27/12 9:32 AM Have you tried Fabric Mart? (Fabricmartfabrics.com) They have a wide selection and good prices. You can't get swatches though- but they do offer a subscription swatch service, it is $50 for the year, but comes with a $25 coupon, so it ends up costing very little per month.
I've also liked Voguefabricstore.com
They will let you order swatches.

Date: 2/27/12 10:40 AM Farmhouse Fabrics will do swatches upon request if you send a self address stamped envelope. They have excellent quality shirtings. I also use Fabric Mart a lot. While they don't do swatches (except for Julie's Picks club members) they do allow returns. ------ -- Anne

Date: 2/27/12 10:52 AM Sawyer Brook sells lovely quality fabrics. The people there are very good at coordinating fabric colors and textures so things they say will match will go together beautifully. My only personal "complaint" is that they choose colors that I don't wear. Saves me a lot of money though. ------ Liz

Date: 2/27/12 11:16 AM You can get swatches from Emma One Sock and Gorgeous Fabrics. Although by the time you get a swatch from EOS the fabric may be sold out. Her stuff goes really fast.
Fabrics from both places, plus Marcy Tilton, are just luscious. I have never been disappointed in the quality or the service. ------ Karen

Date: 2/28/12 0:42 AM Mood fabrics offers swatches for a small fee. I've been impressed with their selection! Vogue fabrics offers swatches. Elliot Berman will send you three samples for free (it's under "samples dept" at the top.) I've used that before and been pleased with the service, though they are pricey when they aren't running a sale. |

Date: 2/28/12 9:53 PM I know they are not popular with some PR members, but I like Fashion Fabrics Club. And lucky for you, they are having a sale on twill until March 12. $4.75 a yard and many different colors. And cotton knit for tops is the same price. Their swatches are a little expensive, but I've never been disappointed with their fabrics. They used to have a swatch service which was a yearly fee, but I don't see it listed anymore. ------ "We don't impose our rhythm on Nature. The key is to respect and live within Her." You can find "good" fabrics at many places....but these sellers are consistent and know quality.
