Pre-treating Dry Clean only Cotton What would you do?

She suggests dry cleaning. I'm afraid to toss this into the washer and line dry as I usually would fine cotton fabric. How would you pre-treat this fabric? I intend to dry clean the finished garment. Do you think a good steaming would do the trick? I've considered london shrink but I've only used that for wool in the past. I really don't want to take it to the dry cleaners prior to sewing, but will if that's the best option. Thanks in advance. ------
