I am participating in Angela Wolf's Pant class and would like to make a pair of decent jeans in the end. I've been searching the net and so far nothing yielded yet. I am looking for a bright color denim (purple, dark pink or bright blue, solid color) of good quality that won't lose shape in two hours of wearing. I have had a few pairs in my wardrobe, and some of them have lasted for ever! I think both the content and type of waive contribute to good quality, but how to say?
My current RTW pair is 12 oz in weight (I calculated the weight using offcuts of the pants) , and they are capri jeans, so I guess, 10 or 12 oz would be perfect.
If you have bought some good denim please share

The only decent coloured demin I have found (and I have searched hard) is white, not a colour I know, but at least different to denim blue. Here http://theremnantwarehouse.com.au/ I intend dyeing mine.
Otherwise, nothing. I would love to know a source too.

I went to check the site you mentioned, didn't see any denim white color, perhaps sold out?
Dyeing the denim sounds like an interesting idea. Last summer I dyed my RTW jeans to cover the bleached streaks of so-called fashion. I filled the washing machine with a very hot water and ran the full ycle, using two tablets of sky blue instead of one to match the color of the jeans.

I did find some dark raspberry colored denim at JoAnn's. It was not in the denim section, but with the bottomweights. The bolt said it was a bull denim and 10 oz, I believe. It has prewashed well with no wrinkles and little shrinkage.

Ooops! Just realized you are all in Australia...JoAnn's, even if it turns out to be nice stuff, is no help to you..so sorry.

Have you tried Lura's Fabric They have some colors. I ordered some of their 10 oz black stretch denim (no white threads) for the jeans contest and was very pleased with the quality. It may seem pricey, but the denim that I ordered was 60 inches wide, as I recall.

Fabricmart has some colored denims right now but not pure bright colors, which is what I think you are asking about. Theirs are colors shot in it appears, or more muddied. I did order the burgundy personally.

Fabricmart here: http://www.fabricmartfabrics.com/xcart/Denim/

I ordered one of them but I just ordered it so don't have it in hand yet.

Bull denim holds up very well. I have purchased it online but not at Joanns. I use it in kids clothing and it is tough, at least the stuff I used.

spandexworld.com carries stretch denim in bright colors. It is not heavy (about 6 oz.) and can have up to 6 or 8 % spandex. This may not be what you are looking for, especially with the shipping, but I thought I would mention it.

I am always looking for good denim, especially with a bit of stretch. I hope someone out there can help.

Thanks everybody!
I checked the sites you mentioned, and found this beautiful periwinkle bull denim. I emailed them asking to give me a better price for shipping (their offer is $38), by choosing a different shipping option, now waiting for an answer.
For some reason the link doesn't work, it is this fabric -Periwinkle Stretch Bull Denim Fabric - LDEN160 in stretch denim and twill section.
