Date: 2/29/12 9:12 AM My happier sewing day ever was this past Tuesday. I had completed my first ever adult garment, it fits, it's well done, no ugly mistake etc, etc. It's just a simple top, but I'm pleased with the result.
On Tuesday morning, I waited until the last moment (school drop) to put it on. My daughter, who is 3 and has autism, was already ready for school, and when she saw me, she looked at me from head to toe with a puzzled look, then smiled a little and said : "Woah!".
Coming from this child especially, I was melting !
This little girl is always fascinated when I'm sewing, and so far, she seemed to really like what I do for her (may it last!). It feels so good when somebody esp. family member loves your sewing.
Sorry for the brag, but I had to share ------ Always a novice |

Date: 2/29/12 9:53 AM Awesome!
3-year olds are so fun to sew for, I have 3 GD's and it's easy to whip them up the pillowcase-type or smock elastic sundresses for summer.
Even got them picking out fabric, of course it's usually pink or purple!
Then if you make a little matching something for her doll, and hairband, she'll be hooked. |

Date: 2/29/12 1:59 PM I was happy for you when I started reading your comment. Then I got to the part about your daughter. That is so very, very exciting.
The possibility of having one more key to help unpick her little locks and be able to share with her is thrilling. Just having the moment of shared joy has to be a priceless gift.
Would she be interested if you had scraps to make paper doll (or felt kid type things) tops for a mom and kid size version of your top? You could grow a little collection.
Best wishes on such a wonderfully happy day. ------ I have no idea what Apple thought I was saying so be a Peach and credit anything bizarre to auto correct. |
