Changing shirt pattern so it has tie up front?

I was wondering if its easy to take a shirt pattern and alter it so it ties up at the front rather than buttons up?
Do I just change the front so they are triangular rather than straight?

So no buttons, just ties? I'd make fronts extended like you said. There will be some play with darts though, depending on the position of the tie knot.

If the knot sits higher up then you don't need bust darts - the knot's gathers will replace darts, so I'd remove those...
