I'm making View C with the tie belt. I really don't like the looks of a top that ties in the back. Reminds me of a maternity top! Anyone out there that has sewn Vogue 8422 View C, can you think of another way that I could fasten it thus omitting the tie belt and maybe using a belt of my own? wrap top view C

Have not sewn it, but looked at back of pattern envelope. Since it's only supposed to be made of very specialized 2 way stretch knit fabric with lots of lycra in it, you may not even need any actual wrap opening at all to get it on and wear it. In that case, you might still even be able to pull it on and get your head and body in and out of it, with no real wrap at all, and instead while making it, try on and just wrap the front piece across your body and check, even before sewing up the side seams and see if you can even just pull it on, no openings at all. If so, then you could wrap it across your body and then incorporate all the wrap gathers, just into the side seam there instead. And have no real wrap, just a fake wrap look to the front of it and no fasteners either.

If too tight to pull on that way, you could always still ditch the real wrap part of it much the same, and only have the visual wrap in the front, but then you might have to put a zipper in the side seam. In that case, I would pick the side seam that was just smooth and only two layers and no gathers, because I think the zipper would end up being much more comfortable and lay a lot flatter there, then trying to get it inset into a side seam with the bulk of the gathers in it too.

I also have not sewn it, and maybe I am misunderstanding, but from the line drawings it looks as if the other two views have possibly longer ties that wrap around and tie in the front. Could you use those ties on view C? (Though perhaps you don't want to tie it in the front either.)
