Date: 3/9/12 11:33 AM This is my first ever quilt, started 23 years ago at a quilting class, hand pieced and hand quilted. When I got to the border, which is the backing wrapped around to the front and sewn down, I got so tired of hand sewing I just quit.
It made it through 3 moves still undone, and I found it months ago in a closet. It had ugly dark brown stains on it, the batting had been pulled out in a few places, but I finished it anyways.
FINALLY.
Lemon juice and sunshine finaly got the worst of the stains out, and my grandson LOVES IT.

Date: 3/9/12 1:09 PM Thanks everyone!
I was 20 years old when I pieced this! I now know so much more, like DO NOT use polyester fabric! It has pills all over it.
I can see the seam allowances through the white-that makes me CRAZY now. A lot of the blocks don't line up. Doesn't seem to matter though when you look at the whole thing instead of bits of it.
I am glad I finished it. Last time it got washed it didn;t make it back upstairs to my grandson's room, and EVERYONE uses it. It's the favorite couch cuddlin blanket now. -- Edited on 3/9/12 1:11 PM -- ------ Cathryn |

Date: 3/9/12 1:10 PM Your quilt is wonderful. And, the quilt must have known it wanted to wait for this particular grandson to be it's companion. ------ I have no idea what Apple thought I was saying so be a Peach and credit anything bizarre to auto correct. |
