A newsworthy project! A friend's idea caught attention in NYC...

We made New Look 6096 out of scraps from her shirts. Well last night she was wearing it around the hotel in NYC and she caught the attention of a local reporter... today I saw this upon checking the news... Syracuse fan makes orange and blue dress from SU t-shirts How cool is that!!!

I love when odd mixes come up, like sports and sewing. What a great idea for worn tee shirts, just use the good parts for a dress. ------ if a little voice inside says dont buy that fabric you have so much, you know your not pushing the cart with the loud wheel to the cutting counter fast enough!
CConverse Beginner NY USA Member since 4/29/11 Posts: 96	Login to reply to this post Like this post Date: 3/9/12 7:52 PM When she mentioned the project to me I was nervous, and it was pretty complicated when it came to laying out all the logos without cutting off any of her favorites in a seam or something. I've never actually sewn for anyone else but me and my kids before! I had a lot of fun with it though (plus it was nice to have some adult company in the sewing area LOL). We actually cut up more shirts than we needed so I think the extras are going to get turned into pillows or something. All in all it was a great learning experience and a fun project!
