Date: 3/13/12 3:45 PM Well, I went in for some nice cream knit for a new shirt and possibly some rayon to try out for shorts. I haven't sewn with rayon in a long, long time, but have seen some really cute RTW garments lately from rayon or rayon like fabrics.
Well, there was a whole table full of rayon solids on sale for $4/yd!!!
I came home with 12 ids of various rayons...some will be saved for beautiful linings, and then on to the knits...
They had the audacity to have some startlingly beautiful crinkly, zig zaggy, stripey knit that I HAD to have...and also the cream solid. Then there was the graphic cream and black double knit...
And I accidentally went by the corduroy table...and there was gorgeous cotton/ spandex velvet perfect for jeans in a mustard color! And, a Kelly green fine whale cotton/spandex, too!
Oh, mercy. I have never spent some much on fabric at one time. At least the jeans pattern is a TNT after the jeans contest. I have had three total wadders in a row in the past 2 weeks. I have been using stash at a pretty fast clip, but I just added 2 months of sewing's worth!
That corduroy is pre washing as we speak.

Date: 3/13/12 4:22 PM Uh-oh, now you'll have to check out the threads on sewing room organization Isn't it great fun to find fabric you like at a price that really allows you to play with it? ------ I have no idea what Apple thought I was saying so be a Peach and credit anything bizarre to auto correct. |

I am glad I feel confident sewing with knits, because that crinkly zig zag stuff was expensive!! But all else was well priced. Jeans are a bargain at only 20$ worth of fabric apiece!
I just was astounded at how much I found today. I usually have to work pretty hard to find that much good stuff. ------ Raye Ann
