Woohoo! I finally made a dressform! And a tutorial

I know fitting is probably the biggest issue I've come across so far in sewing, so I decided to have a go at making my own paper tape dress form, like it seems a lot of sewers on this forum have made. It wasn't super easy, but I think it gave a great result- just thought I'd share it for anyone who's not heard of it- since normal dress forms are super expensive, plus they don't replicate your true body like this method! She resembles you greatly and appears strong and serviceable. She is not going to sag with time, either, unlike many duct tape forms. Thank for the fine tutorial with pictures, too.

They are not easy to write well, but yours is very clear and makes a lot of sense. I have a DTD, but I think the next one will be paper tape. In a small museum in the Gold Country of California, I saw one that had been made--obviously by someone skilled--sometime around 1912, judging by the corseted figure. It had been lacquered, but it was only a couple of layers thick (very short, diagonal lengths of tape, btw), was not stuffed, and it was in absolutely perfect shape.
