Date: 3/19/12 5:32 PM Likely pre closing down fabiri dept. All Walmarts near me stopped selling fabric last year. ------ It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something. ~ Franklin D Roosevelt 1843

Date: 3/19/12 7:00 PM Is the poly chiffon a lavender floral? I bought 2 yards a few weeks ago (also 1.50), brought it home and washed it, and was so pleased with it I went back to get another 2 yards before it's gone. I don't know what I'm going to do with it, but I don't want to end up short.
Much better than most of what my Walmart has. I go there basically to look at patterns and buy muslin fabrics. ------ marjoriekh |

Date: 3/19/12 9:40 PM My Walmart took out all their patterns around 6 months ago. I called a few times and was assured that someone would get back to me in a day or two -- which never happened. Then about a month ago they started getting in some chiffons, knits, etc. Then a couple of weeks ago there was a pattern cabinet in the middle of the fabric section. The girl who was working there said they had some patterns in the top drawer and a lot more in the back. Don't know if it was my complaining (probably not) or that someone at the top realized that their sales had dropped drastically in fabrics, but they are back. Haven't had a chance to check them out because JoAnn had a sale and I got all the new ones I wanted.
Hope they keep getting in the chiffons, crepe backed satin, and knits that I saw about a month ago rather than the ultra cheap quilting cottons. ------ Total fabric on hand: 1/1/13 1683.731 yds

Date: 3/20/12 6:24 AM We had two Walmarts close down their fabric sections over a year ago, but they put them back in. However, the one I go to ( I get the impression ) that they just caved under public complaints, because what came back was only half the size the department size it was , half the fabric half the supplies, even the cutting table is alot smaller. The fabric looks like it has been in storage for years. |

Date: 3/20/12 7:07 AM They got rid of the fabric at my Walmart three years ago but have now gotten the fabric back but not quite as much. We don't have patterns though.
The chiffon was some dark navy blue and black and gray print. |

Date: 3/20/12 7:37 AM i purchased 2 pieces of sheer fabric from walmart on my last visit. One was a pretty kelly green. The other was turquoise/aqua from the remnants. I plan to make ruffle scarves with them. I've made one already from a tutorial I found online and it turned out pretty well. |

Date: 3/20/12 9:25 AM Just yesterday I went to Wal Mart to grab some odds and ends. (Of course I really went to check out the fabric!) My Wal Mart had bunches of $1.50 and $2.00 per yard bolts. I added to my stash -- 11 pieces worth of 4 yards each. I got some very nice shirtings, good cotton and cotton blend florals, and a stretch bottom weight fabric. |

Date: 3/20/12 9:41 AM A lot of Walmart's are bringing back their fabrics. Apparently, enough of the US complained -- they finally listened. I know I threatened to STOP shopping at all Walmart if they discontinued. I kept calling headquarters and sending emails. Obviously, many others did the same -- because they finally listened!! |
