Date: 3/21/12 1:43 AM I just paid for and am waiting to get info on how to download Pattern File Plus (pattern-file.com).
This looks like it may be the answer to our prayers-somewhat...does anyone else have info? I am getting frustrated trying to download it so I can start playing with it! ------ Brother ULT 2002D, Janome 6500P, Babylock Eclipse SX, Juki MO654DE, Janome Coverpro 1000CPX, Singer 15-91 |

Date: 3/21/12 3:50 AM Yes, there are a few of us using this now that the mobile app has been released. Head on over to "Patterns and Notions" - "Pattern File Software" and join our thread discussion. We are all sharing ideas and learning from each other. All welcome! ------ Jenny, Perth, WA |

Thanks for all your help so far, Jenny! |

Date: 6/11/12 1:26 AM I can't seem to find the reviews written about the Pattern File App. I have downloaded it but am not having a lot of luck with my patterns. Maybe 1 in every 8 is listed on Pattern File. |

Date: 6/13/12 10:05 AM I got rid of it. Too time consuming. If they ever come up with something you can scan the barcode or has ALL the pattern numbers in it, then maybe. In the meantime I will just have to try to keep track myself. ------ Brother ULT 2002D, Janome 6500P, Babylock Eclipse SX, Juki MO654DE, Janome Coverpro 1000CPX, Singer 15-91 |

Date: 6/15/12 4:01 PM Entering the information is time consuming, even with the auto-load feature...more so if adding an OOP or independent pattern. However, I must say it is wonderful to be able to quickly search 300+ patterns to find what I have for a maxi dress. (Which I did this morning!)

Date: 3/4/13 7:45 AM I have mixed feelings about this but I am getting better at it. It is nice that several pattern companies (big 4 plus some others) automatically load information. For most of my patterns, I scan or download a photo and load the information I need. I initially loaded all kinds of information about a pattern but quickly decided I did not need ALL the pattern info. I need basics then if I want more info, I will pull the pattern. That insight saves a lot of work.
I now load photo, line drawings and quick details I want when shopping like fabric needed for my size, notions I would not have in my stash. Enough to decide if I want to use this pattern and buy my fabrics. |
