Snaps ot Zipper on Gore-Tex rain coat

I've never seen snaps only on a gore tex coat, only on the yellow industrial/fishing "banana suit" or kids wear. ------ Cheap fabrics, like cheap shoes, are a false economy.

I never use the zipper; it is sooo easy just to press those velcros together. I might feel differently if I lived in an area with really violent weather, but for ordinary rain, it's fine.

If you use snaps you might want to attach the outer (female) side of the snap to the facing only. This way the outside face isn't punctured. You'd need to reinforce the facing to make sure the snap doesn't pull out. You might also need to reinforce the snaps near the knees as there is generally more force in general use placed on zips and buttons at the knees than on the torso. ------ It's the journey, not the destination that counts
