Ponte knit for McCall's 5974, is it suitable?

Check the stretch which I am pretty sure is fine. Since that knit is a bit heavier than some other knits you might have to trim seams as that pattern has gathers around the waist; a heavier fabric will give you bulky seams. That pattern has been reviewed alot. Did you read the reviews; I bet some other people have used a similar knit. I have the pattern in my stash but haven't made it yet.
