Hi,
I have a TNT a line skirt pattern (McCalls 3341). I'm planning on creating a yoke. Now I drew the yoke in on the front pattern, closed up the dart and it created width to the bottom of the skirt. I don't want the added width to the bottom.
My questions is can I use the yoke without closing up the darts and just subtract the width of the darts from my waist (which then I would use a smaller waist size pattern.) Or any suggestions? Thanks DD

what you do is draw a yoke ( on original pattern ) and cut it off. Then you close the darts on the yoke and it will become more curved at the bottom edge. This way you have transferred the darts into the yoke and have not added any flare to the hem
