This was kind of buried in another post, so I thought I'd make a new topic to get attention.

A couple people mentioned buying, using 3 oz modal jersey for lining.

I can't seem to find the 3 oz.

Also is it the plain modal jersey, or does it have spandex? What colors do you use? I was thinking black and beige color?

I really need this, soft against my skin.

Thank's, Jeannie

I'm interested to know more about this, as well! I find rayon/modal jersey to be unflatteringly clingy; would it not do this as a lining, also? (But it *is* so yummy soft!)

Only modal I'm familiar with online is at Mood, and is kind of expensive for lining most home sewing applications. I get mine in person, if they still have it it would be about 3.99, I suppose I could proxy it but I'm pretty busy.

As far as color is concerned, you can actually dye modal, because it's just a plant cellulose. You'll need a dye for synthetics, like Dylon; RIT and other all-purpose dyes probably won't get satisfactory results.

I'm surprised people are lining garments with modal. To me, modals best property is its drape, so its best application would be long and flowing tops, skirts, dresses, draped panels, and such.

I have found the 3 oz @ highendfabrics an ebay store. I have had good luck lining with it so far.
