Date: 3/29/12 10:47 PM DD was over today and told me that she recently pulled out her machine to make a quick apron as a gift. She looked through her stash and realized that it is nonexistent!
The poor girl has no stash and lives just too far away to pop over and shop Mom's. Instead of bringing over casseroles when I visit (she is a chef anyway...) I should start taking yardage. ------ http://bgballroom.wordpress.com to follow the progress on my next ballgown. |

Date: 3/29/12 10:54 PM She either needs to move closer to you or to offer to store some of your stash
Of course, you could ask all of your friends on PR to send her a piece of fabric. That would be a dandy surprise. ------ I have no idea what Apple thought I was saying so be a Peach and credit anything bizarre to auto correct. |

2 members like this. Date: 3/30/12 0:40 AM Wow. No stash. What a novel idea. Frightening idea, in fact. I don't think there is any danger of my having this dreadful experience. DH wouldn't mind if things ever got to that stage, though. ------ Fictionfan |

Date: 3/30/12 1:35 AM Exactly what I was thinking. If you want to PM with an address and a couple of fabric ideas, I'll send her something anyway with a note that I heard the poor dear didn't have a stash. ------ I have no idea what Apple thought I was saying so be a Peach and credit anything bizarre to auto correct. |

She kept all the scraps in a cloth bag we also made. Now she has a dozen or so fat quarters the has talked her mom into, and she pulls out that bag and fondles them, just like us . And we all know where this is going, from one bag to . . . |

But never one that owned a sewing machine!
I understand one can always tell a Stash-less (is the PC term Stash-challenged?) as they live in very neat and tidy homes and are rarely if ever seen in fabric stores!

This kinda left me speechless. Not having a stash of fabric is much like having no food in the pantry. As she is a chef she probably realizes that now .
But on the other hand.. its good news.. as now you know what to do with your excess.. Gives you yet another reason to fabric shop.. and wowie.. how easy it would be to do her gift shopping. just buy her fabric for her birthdays and other occasions. |

Way down here in stash and feeling Bereft.
Not one good thing in JA or Hancocks or WM re-dos,
but also nowhere special to go to need new duds, as
H is slowing way down.
Got a lot of good stuff at last year's garage sales,
so I'm glad they will start in April because of extra long
spring this year. Off to try new online sites, love those UPS
trucks! |
