so the Sensa selling push is on. Their ad (which I have not clicked on) pops up on my laptop all the time. And of course the Millionaire Matchmaker - Patty says she lost weight with it. It just sounds too odd to work to me.

For a fun April 1 discussion -- has anyone actually used this? Did it work? Maybe it is a tool that reminds you to eat less?

Reviews seem to be mixed (and skeptical). I've never used it. The theory is that if you feel full, you won't eat. There are reported side effects.

Those darn laptops! That's why I don't have one; they're too much like mirrors...

Kathy, I'm afraid I don't know what Sensa is. But if annoying (and insulting) weight loss and matchmaker ads keep popping up on your computer (or anyone else's), you can do a few things to stop them. Here are two.

The first thing I recommend is that you stop using Google for your online searches and switch to Duck Duck Go, a search engine that does not track you.

Then visit networkadvertising.org and aboutads.info to opt out of receiving behaviorally targeted ads.

I used to be plagued by these types of ads, but since I started fighting back by dropping services like facebook and google that violate my privacy, I almost never see a pop up ad on any of the websites I visit.

It reeks of that old adage "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."

the true only way to lose weight is to eat less you eat and exercise. Anything else is bogus. It might help you lose 10 lbs. But if you don't change your eating habits you will just put it back on. It also may screw up your metabolism and make it even harder for you to lose weight.

KathySews, I did some research on this and with what I know about the body, I wouldn't use it. It changes things within your body, with the possibility of throwing it off balance with your endocrine/adrenal system, and might really mess up stuff. Your thinking of it sounding "too odd" is a warning light, and one I feel shouldn't be ignored.

If you want to lose weight, change something in your eating habits. You could eat an apple instead of a cookie, eat carrots and peanut butter (yum!) instead of chips; those kinds of substitutions over time will make a big difference and your body will love you for it.

Also, take a vitamin; at the very least, a multi. A B-complex can raise your metabolism, help you sleep better and alleviate stress. A C is an antioxidant and immune system builder, D alleviates depression, etc., etc.
