1.4 metre of patterned knit dress ideas? Pattern ideas needed

I could imagine it as a dress but I only have 1.4 m of 150cm wide fabric. Is it possible or should I try a different garment. I was hoping a slimline dress with some capacity to hide a round tummy.

Date: 4/5/12 7:43 AM Maybe you can use the fabric to make "color block" dress by using a different color in the side panels of a princess seamed dress. You wouldn't need as much of your fabric, and it's quite slimming.

Date: 4/5/12 1:55 PM I guess it depends on what size you are and if the fabric is a woven or a knit. If there's a style I love but don't have enough fabric I change it to a shorter sleeve, cap sleeve or no sleeve depending on how short I am on fabric. Sometime I do the same with hem lengths. If there's facings you can do a bias binding instead. Seems like there's lots of options.

You could always also combine it with some other fabric. As use it, in a panel down the middle of a dress or such. Especially if you have a dark solid on the outer 2 side panels of it. The dark up and down paneling on the sides, make that part of your body sort of recede, and gives the illusion of less width. A busy print in the middle gets the attention, and maybe hides some stuff too.
