Date: 5/6/12 2:34 AM Hi I'm in Sonoma County.Guess that's too far South? Are there any fabric shops say like in Eureka? Here there is one [Santa Rosa] Its bad. There's a Beverley's craft store that has good quilting cotton which I use for sewing cotton clothes. But other than that I order online and have built a good stash. When we moved here in the 70's there were at least 5 good shops but they all closed. Before the internet the only thing to do was go back down to the Bay Area. Last year I ordered silk from Ct. and Lace from Louisiana for my daughter's wedding dress- that was great! Carry |

Date: 5/11/12 10:48 AM Dear Carry,
Sonoma County, I wish I was there now. We finally have sun; but, a biting cold wind off of the ocean. For fabrics, we have Joann's and 2 local quilt shops. We had Hancock; but, they went out of business 5 or so years ago. I also use the internet for fabric buying. We are finally getting a Walmart here!!!! It should be open this fall. I do buy some fabric there. No more traveling to Del Norte, Mendocino, or Shasta counties just to shop there!!! Yippie!!! You are welcome to post here. I was looking for other people in either Humboldt or Del Norte to do a Pattern Review Potluck. I have seen other area groups on here to it, I thought it would be great to do one for this end of California. I guess not. Have a great day!!! ERica |
