Ladies,

How far away from your bust point should the bust dart begin? I am large busted and just completed a FBA and I know the dart needs to end at least an inch from your bust point, right?

Most people like 2". Of course there will be others who like it closer or farther away.
I am coming to the conclusion that with a really large bust (I have a D cup) two darts would look better. I am going to start using two darts and see what I think about it?

Yes...but I've been told that the larger the bust and cup size, the further away your dart tip should end. I try for at least 1.5" - 2", sometimes more, but I have a large cup size. I'm finding it also seems to depend on the size of my dart width and the fabric I'm using. I'm still learning and searching for that elusive perfectly placed dart myself.

ETA I had to step away before hitting "post" and just read Ada's answer. Sounds like mine are still a bit too long, but the short, wide dart is hard to sew neatly. The two dart solution is a good idea - I'll have to get past my fears and try it once.

Thanks! I never heard of using 2 darts on one side. I don't think I've ever seen that either. Is that new?
