Is there such a thing as flattering shorts?

Either I look like I've been squashed or my legs look super chunky. Is there any style that would fit me? ------ 'The purpose of most fashion is to be ostentatiously non-functional.'

The slight flare on View B has a somehwta retro look to it although not the high waist. Depending on the shape of your legs you might want to cut them a little long; for example, just past the flare of your calf if you have big calves.

I do find I feel a bit better dressed when I wear a skort. I cannot wear full flowy shorts as I have full inner thighs and they just ride up. I did pull out two pair of shorts this weekend. One has cuffs and they really jut draw attention to my full thighs. I also wear capris, but have not found a good length for me yet. I think part of the problem is that I need to find a top the right length to balance the look. jennierigg Advanced Beginner UNITED KINGDOM Member since 3/18/12 Posts: 18	Login to reply to this post Like this post Date: 4/14/12 8:14 PM I can't wear anything that shows thigh - even my swimming costume has knee length legs LOL - because my huge, extremely white, muscular thighs (I inherited my dad's legs, and he was a prop forward rugby player for many years - see http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/ca/Scrum.JPG for examples of rugby player legs) just mean that nobody ever looks at any other part of me if they are showing. So short shorts are not an option... And I stopped wearing my comfiest pair of shorts when a "friend" told me they looked like "clown pants". They were knee length and I guess a bit baggy... Mostly I am happy with my stocky, muscular physique - big butt, broad shoulders, big chest, narrow waist works well for me. I just wish I could find shorts (or a pattern to make some) that were comfy AND flattering. It's seriously looking like it's back to the clown pants again for me this summer...
