Date: 4/11/12 0:09 AM I'm making my mother a skirt - she showed me one she liked so here is what I'm trying to do
It has buttons down the front - figured that out - and elastic in the waistband too?
Ok so what I did was draft a waistband to fit the button down the front of the skirt - made a smaller casing for 2 rows of small elastic to "fold" into the waistband - Should I place this casing close to the waistband seam sewn onto the skirt, or at the top section of the waist band??
What I have so far
I know there is elastic you can buy and sew on to put it in here, but I'm using stash everything - Placement of where this should go will really help!!
Thanks -- Edited on 4/11/12 0:14 AM -- ------ I have great enthusium for sewing, but lack talent to be great.

Date: 4/25/12 8:42 PM I would use the waistband as the caseing, and would not do a seprate piece inside the waistband.
Are you making a seprate elastic piece becuase you don't want stitching on the outside?
Can you post a picture of the waist on the skirt your copying? Then I might be able to give you some ideas on how I would recreate the waist. ------ Kelly
