I'm making Simplicity 1872 for my sister-in-law.
Simplicity 1872

I made one in satin, but we thought it was too thick...
We want something light but has some body and not too casual as it'll be a bridesmaids dress.

What is the fabric on the model dress? It looks perfect.
Is there any other recommendation?

It looks like crepe de chine or maybe rayon.

Hi - This would be lovely in a 4-ply silk. I just bought some from Fabric Mart and I definately recommend it. Good luck with your dress.

Recommended fabrics are on the back of the envelope.

Right, but what's confusing here is that the model doesn't really look like any of the recommendations. It's obviously silk, but it looks heavier than crepe de chine. Usually they list the model fabric first, but the only silk is way down the list.

I like the 4-ply silk suggestion, though!

Good luck!
