Date: 4/22/12 5:00 PM I bought fabric and thread yesterday for a skirt. When I got home and went to put the thread in my thread box, I discovered that I already had SIX (count 'em, six!) of that same color. So now I have eight of them. The color is Gütermann 551.
I understand this -- I'm an earth girl, and taupey-browns are among my favorite colors. I also like fairly classic styles -- black, earth colors, and splashes of more adventurous colors.
What color do you find yourself most buying (sometimes even eight or more times ), and what do you think your "theme" color says about your personality or style? -- Edited on 4/22/12 5:01 PM -- ------ my shield and my very great reward (Gen. 15:1)

1 member likes this. Date: 4/22/12 6:31 PM I don't buy multiple threads, but I will have several shades of the same color, sometimes not with much difference.
My thread box says "I have no taste". I'm not sure I have a black, blue or white in there. |

Date: 4/22/12 6:56 PM My thread collection says two things, at first glance:
'I never wear yellow!' and 'Even though we look a lot alike, my daughter and I don't dress alike.' (She's turquoise, turquoise, turquoise, a little pink, black and bright purple. I'm browns, taupes, ivory, navy, wine and aubergine.) Of course, as she likes to say: 'I'm nine, and my mother's forty-nine.'
Sometimes my thread collection makes me think I should branch out more, but I almost invariably regret it when I do. ------ marjoriekh |

Date: 4/22/12 9:28 PM I have issues with purple. Purple fabric (that is too precious to actually cut) purple shoes, purple dresses, purple sweaters and lots of purple thread. And purple tulips, iris, clematis...... |

Date: 4/22/12 10:16 PM I have more navy thread and black thread than the fabric store has. Gah...
Amy May - I looooove purple and have a terrible time finding good purples. Every time I wear purple, I get compliments. The blue-tone purples are the ones I love. |
