Babylock's promo email includes the package of 6 feet when purchasing the Imagine, Enlighten and Evolution. They say the value is over $300. The Evolution also includes the Inspiration 3-ring binder. If your dealer was not including these with your purchase, you can get them now.

Not all BL dealers are participating in this....at least I know of one that isn't, though she did offer me the option of purchasing the promo for an additional $100-$120, depending on the machine.

I got the impression from the email I received, that this deal is a grand announcement for one and all. Looks like dealers can price and sell independently from the parent company- whatever they think is best. I imagine staying in business today is no small thing; the dealer must manage a livable approach. Sorry if my post's phrasing disappointed you or anyone shopping for a deal on a Babylock. Best to shop your options and assume nothing.

Oh no, your post didn't affect me at all, I found out about the BL promo by visiting their website. Actually, I'm surprised you first received an email about it now! I thought the BL site listed the promo as starting the beginning of April and going until the end of May, but don't quote me on that! lol

Your last sentence is what prompted me to post my initial reply in the first place, so that others don't assume every dealer is doing it. Now I'm curious and will probably visit the BL website to see how it's worded. I thought it said "participating dealers" but I've been researching so many different things on the net this past week I'm dizzy from information. lol

I'm also probably a tiny bit irritated that the one dealer isn't participating in this as a promo, while 2 others are. In fact, one of those 2 dealers were also offering a rolling tote bag - so you never know. Their prices were a couple hundred dollars more however, so it all evens out in the end.

I think it was very nice of you to bring this promo to everyone's attention.

Yep, you're exactly right. At the bottom of the link and in the very fine print, off white on grey- the last bit is participating dealers. I just received this email on 4/20 and I was out of town until today. So, I thought it was news- I haven't been checking the web site, but see it's useful. Thanks for pointing that out.

I have a wonderful local dealer who included these things with my Evolution, plus Babylock specific lessons and general serger classes. The price was very good- $2100, so I assumed that she is typical. I see not necessarily. She has told me to hold my horses, she'll teach me things without attachments and then I can decide if I want to spring for them. A good local dealer has given me peace of mind. The machine is too complex for me to feel secure going it alone without support.

A rolling case might be something to consider down the road. Any idea of what they go for?

Sorry, but I don't - I've never priced them. That particular dealer told me the promo - 6 feet & WB, plus the rolling tote was over a $400 value. They didn't have the BLCS I came to see , but instead showed me the the Evolution - which was sale priced at $2500, (normally $2900), the Enlighten at $1950 and the Imagine at $1350. All 3 sergers included the promo and a rolling cart. The CS they did have in the store was the Janome 1000 CPX. However, they wanted $1600 for the BLCS and it would have to be ordered. Another oddity, the saleswoman only promoted the 1 yr. warranty. When I asked about the 25 yr. BL warranty, she said the owner doesn't like to stress that warranty since there are so many limitations to it, and they haven't had a machine come back that was under those 25 yr. limitations yet. Who knows. Each dealer has a different story, probably why I've become a little disheartened in my quest. I have visited 3 so far, 2 were BL.

I wish I knew what was typical. lol

The 3rd BL dealer actually gave me the CS price over the phone, but his price was almost the same, and he didn't have a CS in the store either. Your dealer sounds great, both price-wise and person-wise! Her sales approach is wonderful. I'd love to find a dealer like that!

ps. The last dealer (phone guy) said he didn't give lessons for the BLCS since it only performed one function, so there isn't anything to learn. He said he sells maybe 1 a yr. and the people who order a CS know what they want and how to use them. That was good intel - saved me a 200 mile RT, but it makes you wonder sometimes. Business must be good in that city!
