I just finished sewing the binding, although when you wrap the back around to the front and sew it down I am not sure if that's still considered "binding".

I HIGHLY recommend the cuddle dry microfleece for a backing. It is so easy to work with, quilts beautifully, and leave lots of room for beginner's errors. The other big plus for me is that it gives the quilt a bit more fluffiness. Finding it outside of a diaper making co-op may be a challenge. I am going to start looking! I read somewhere that another name for it is micro chamois.

After quilting I trimmed the backing/batting edges to an even 1.25" bigger than the top, then cut the batting away flush with the top, then wrapped the back edges around and hand sewed them. Now the quilt has a soft fleecy edge as well as back!

I used the YLI #100 silk for all the quilting. I LOVE it! I also used #100 silk for hand sewing the edges, it's my most favorite hand sewing thread I've ever used. I basted the edges down before I trimmed it, then I removed the basting beofre I sewed the edge down.

When I made my flannel quilts I couldn't wait to wash them so they'd get all wrinkly-crinkly, but for this one I really hated to wash it, I was loving how it was still starchy-sharp looking! But, starchy sharp is not exactly cuddly, so it's in the wash now.

Good job. I like to see a bit of decorative stitching in the mix...it is more fun. Your binding came out well.

That is a wonderful quilt. Aren't you pleased? I wish I could quilt as well as you.
