Subject: WWII Uniforms pattersn Date: 5/3/12 8:13 PM Interesting question! I've never seen any patterns, perhaps because there are several retailers selling reproduction uniforms. (I had no idea there was a market for WWII re-enactors! I should have known, though...) I realize that you did not ask for retailers, but you might find the photos on these websites useful.
WWII Impressions, sells replica WWII uniforms
At The Front Shop Another retailer.
Interesting photo reference of many WWII uniforms
Now I'm curious to discover if there are any published patterns,

Date: 5/4/12 2:49 AM I don't know of any patterns, but you might try looking for patterns that feature safari cuts. They might be similar in terms of pocket style and structure.
Otherwise, if there is a army surplus near you, you might consider buying a real uniform and cutting it up for the pattern pieces. |

has pattern drafts, and they may be able to find something that would work that they could post. It may be English, but you could adapt it to an American version maybe. |

Date: 5/5/12 8:35 PM Here's the perfect pattern for you, Betty. It contains WWII uniforms for the WACS, WAVES, and nurses. The only drawback is that it's for a 14 inch doll, but you should be able to scale it up without too much trouble.
The American designer Mainbocher designed the the WAVES uniforms during WWII. That's why they look so chic.
