This class looks like lots of fun - a nice break from sewing or quilting. I enrolled and am started on my stitch bible right now. This is definitely giving me a new appreciation for my machine and all those gorgeous deco stitches.
Mine will need to be 20 pages of stitches to fit them all in!!

I never thought I'd be interested in hand embroidery, but I think it definitely adds an element to the design when you incorporate it into these projects.

This is going to allow me to use up some of the specialty threads I'd bought - but I don't have too many unfortunately. So, I'm going to get one or two variegated heavy threads and just use those.

Anyone else doing this?

I have that class! I'm about 10% through the hand embroidery.

I had a blast with it. I didn't really have enough stitches to get the look so I did some bobbin work with Superior Razzle Dazzle to get some more oomph. This was a time I wish I had my 501 working, it would have given me more stitches.

The stitch library will be handy long after you're done.

I've used the cord binding technique on some other small projects - it's a blast. I now have a collection of rattail in every color - let me know if you want some.

This will be your first Art Quilt, right? Hooray!

Yes, this is my first art anything with stitches and fabric and such!
I'd love to buy some rat tail from you!! PM me if you are interested in letting go of a few pieces.
I think bobbin work is an excellent idea - thanks for reminding me of this.
I haven't tried the cord binding. I was thinking about just serging the edges with some variegated thread that I bought and never had a use for, combined with some wooly nylon I really need to use up. Then, instead of grommets, I might just get out the Viking or the 201 and sew on a binding.
I think it would be fun to do an all white and red stitch book for my Bernina.

I'm enrolled in it. I've just started the stitch bible on my sewing machine. I'm also finishing up the jenius class. I've had my machine with all of the decorative stitches for about ten years, but have never properly used them. I see lots of garments with similar stitches as decoration and would like to use them.

I took it awhile back. I skipped the hand embroidery, but here's my piece, not sure what I'll do with it.

Your piece is beautiful. I looked at this class but opted for the Jenius class instead. But this class looks like it would be fun and a welcome break from just sewing.

Your piece is beautiful! How big is it? It would make a very pretty purse...and what a conversation piece it would be!

I have watched the videos but not started the stitching yet.
Looking forward to using some of the various threads I have accumulated over the years but never used.
