does anyone have a way of getting rid of voles in my garden. they have chewed down all the new growth on my lilies and clematis. I have tried garlic and epsom salts and nothing has deterred them. Hopefully nothing too lethal --just a deterrant.

Owls eat voles. I don't know if this helps or not.

Borrow the neighbor's cat. That worked for mole and voles removal in our yard.

Our neighbor's cat did not have to be borrowed. He just came over and helped the snakes cut down the vole and mole and field mice populations. The snakes are less likely to leave presents on the front porch, and we don't have to do much besides try not to run them over with the lawn mower.

Our neighbor keeps an owl statue on their front yard, nestled in the bushes.

thank you everyone for the suggestions. I no longer have a cat and it is too busy around my front garden for owls to venture near. Would a garter snake work? I saw one in my neighbour's garden .Maybe i will borrow it.

This is a wacky solution but it worked for me. You don't exactly need a cat, but you need its droppings. You find all the entrances to their runs and you jam the stuff down there. In my instance, they moved elsewhere!
Also, in the fall, make sure to clean up really good in your garden. Clip things back as they like the cover. Mulches attract voles too.
Good luck getting them to re-locate. I see you are in Ontario....not to my house!

Are you sure this isn't rabbit damage??? Voles usually eat roots and stems and bulbs from underneath. This sounds like a different critter to me.
