Date: 5/7/12 6:37 AM I live in MA near where MA, NH, and VT meet. I'm getting back into sewing clothes and want someone to help me with fitting, make a paper tape dummy, commiserate, cajole, and generally have fun sewing together! If you're within about 50 miles of this area and would like the same, please respond. Thanks.

Date: 5/8/12 0:15 AM I also live in MA -- on the RI line. I've been looking for a sewing buddy for a few years now. I can't even get anyone to respond to an email. Good luck with your efforts! Where in MA are you? |

Date: 5/8/12 7:22 AM I sure wish I was near you. I live in Wisconsin and often think how nice that would be. Great idea of finding one here. |

Date: 5/8/12 7:58 AM Baychel..Appleannie Fabrics.. in Swansea, MA..just over the line from RI..holds classes and "day camps" frequently. Easy access off 195..a very good chance you will find a classmate that will become a friend there. I took classes and shopped frequently when I lived in RI..now living in Naples, FL...weather is a paradise! Sewing?? What's sewing?? Unless you quilt. I still sew!! |

Date: 5/9/12 6:20 AM Wow, I wasn't sure I'd get any responses at all. Thank you all! Baychel and Leslie, you're kind of far away but I really need this. Lauraalyse, sorry you're so far away. Fran, thanks for the suggestion of Apple Annie. http://www.appleanniefabrics.com/classes I see that they have an extended sewing camp day next Friday the 18th. I'm going to call them about it, because the only thing like that near me is for quilters only. :-( The only part I don't like, other than the 5 hour RT, is I have to buy a pattern--I'm just getting started and I already have too many! Maybe we could all meet there? If that's not possible, maybe we can arrange to get together another time; I'm pretty flexible on times. You can email me at klutzygirlsfarmette at gmail dot com. Anyone else who's interested feel free as well. Also, I am learning a lot about fitting by watching Peggy Sagers' videos. BUT, even though she shows you how, I cannot imagine fitting a garment to myself! http://www.silhouettepatterns.com/html/media/livestreamchannel/index_replays.htm -- Edited on 5/9/12 6:32 AM -- |

Date: 5/9/12 3:26 PM I just spoke with Anne at Apple Annie. The Friday sewing camp probably won't take place this month, can you believe it, but should happen in June. It costs $10/hour; contact them if you want to be notified. I continue my quest to get some clothes made NOW, somehow! Hoping to work something out with someone. Sigh. -- Edited on 5/11/12 7:57 AM -- |

Date: 6/1/12 9:28 PM I'm close (formerly in Nfld) and I'd love fitting help too. I'm 10 minutes south of Greenfield. Have recently done PR on-line FBA class and would love to get a really good fit for bodice...and everything else! Summer is more flexible for me.

Date: 6/2/12 12:21 PM I would love a sewing buddy but I'm in Texas. I've been looking for suitable local classes to meet other sewing ladies but all I can find are quilting classes, machine dedicated classes or rank beginner stuff. |
