I got a very good looking newsletter from Fabric.com today. In addition to a new layout (I think) the words "seersucker" and "linen" started singing in my head.

Anyway, I can't buy online even if I wanted to, credit card theft drama, but I remember they had announced a major make-over of the website.

Since we are in May, does that mean they automated their inventory and everything else they promised?

I haven't heard any of this. I'll have to check out their site.

So sorry for the ID theft--such a pain to deal with!

ID theft is the worstIt happened to me last year, but fortunately for me, I get automated e-mails whenever my cards are charged and I caught it with the first charge...which just so happened to have drained my entire bank account

I don't think they've changed anything...I got an email this am saying they were out of one of the fabrics I ordered. This ordershould have shipped last week anyway..I asked that they cancel the matching rib knit fabric and hold the order until I could find substitues to bring the total back to $35..A reply said they received my email and pulled the oos fabric. Just got the shipping confirmation and it looks as if nothing has been changed on my order. My last several orders have all had problems.

As for the id theft, I use a prepaid credit card from a local check cashing place. It acts like a real vias or mastercard, in that I can use it anyplace, but I put the amount of money I want on it. Usually I figure my internet sales budget for the week or month and put that amount on the card..if it is hacked, I haven't lost much and I use it in areas where I think there would be a chance of the numbers being swiped, such as the fabric shows or restaurants. I also use it for paypal so PP doesn't have access to any bank account. Paypal has also had problems lately.

Eh, my last few orders from here and Fabric Mart are riddled with items not in stock, wrong item sent, fabric content wrong, weight wrong, etc.

I send it all back if I don't like it. I got an order from both places this month...and both were less then stellar, but no change afaik.

I got a fabric.com order last week. The content was correct (that can be iffy for me), but I didn't notice anything different on the website at all.

I went on yesterday - the $1.95 section sucked me in LOL.

But this morning I started the checkout process and noticed the checkout is not an https site !

Is that new or have I just not noticed it before ? Needless to say my willpower kicked in quickly and I just closed it down. :-)

What with shipping being way more than the cost of the fabric, it was just as well anyway.
